The total number of awards vary from year to year, but TCSP typically offers around 75 scholarships. Many scholarships provide awards to more than one student and so the total number of awards can reach up to 200.

Scholarships range in value from $1,000 to $50,000. The average award for student winners is around $4,000. Some students may receive multiple awards.

Students are welcome to apply for any scholarship for which they are eligible, but the application process can be time-consuming; we recommend that you focus on the scholarships that best fit your needs and your strengths.

On average, 200-250 students apply each year.

TCSP wants to give families as much flexibility as possible to pay for college, and so our scholarships generally apply to all costs of attendance. These include:

• Tuition and fees

• Books, course materials, supplies, and equipment

• Cost of housing and food

• Transportation expenses

• Fees related to school medical insurance and services

• Costs of obtaining a license, certification, or professional credential related to your degree

• Please note that the IRS is stricter on what it considers qualified educational expenses. Funds used for non-qualified expenses like housing, food, travel, and insurance may be subject to taxes.

• Please keep in mind that not every scholarship can be used for every expenses. The specific parameters of each scholarship are outlined in each description.

• Personal expenses, such as entertainment, recreation, clothes, self-care and grooming services, etc.

• Activities that do not generate credit toward your degree, certificate, or license

• Non-academic programs (as example: National Outdoor Leadership Program (NOLS) and Outward Bound)
