SCHOLARSHIP DISBURSEMENTS
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:
In late June, we reach out to the recipients via their PERSONAL email with instructions on how to access your funds.
In that email will be a link to an online form that you must fill out to receive your scholarship(s).
Use your PERSONAL email for the Wufoo form (do not use any school email).
The form will ask you to upload proof of enrollment, your most recent transcript, and the Financial Aid letter from your school. The requirements for your award(s) will be confirmed with this information.
We cannot disburse any funds until we receive the completed form. All funding will go directly to the school or a 529 Savings Account.
Scholarships not claimed by December 31st of the award year will be forfeited (unless we are otherwise notified with arrangements made and/or deferred).
If your email address changes, please let us know immediately as this will affect future communications.
If you change or leave school, please let us know immediately. A new form will be required for every new school attended and each year of school to receive funding.
Returning students are fully responsible for completing a new form for each new school after their first year to receive funding. You will also be asked to upload your enrollment for the upcoming year and your most recent college transcript (to verify qualification status) .
Once you have read this entire page and are clear on the required steps, complete your disbursement form HERE
DEFERMENTS:
Occasionally students need to defer an award. TCSP may allow students to defer and requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. Students may defer their awards for up to 1 year for a gap year, academic, health, and financial reasons or up to 2 years for a religious mission. This could change based on terms set by your award, so read the details of each award to know if a deferment is allowed. To be approved, this form must be completed and submitted immediately upon decision: Deferment Form Failure to complete the form may result in a forfeiture of funds.
WHAT EXPENSES DO TCSP SCHOLARSHIPS COVER?
TCSP wants to give families as much flexibility as possible to pay for college, and our scholarships generally apply to all costs of attendance. These include:
Tuition and fees
Books, course materials, supplies, and equipment
Cost of housing and food
Transportation expenses
Fees related to school medical insurance and services
Costs of obtaining a license, certification, or professional credential related to your degree
Please note that the IRS is stricter on what it considers qualified educational expenses. Funds used for non-qualified expenses like housing, food, travel, and insurance may be subject to taxes.
Please keep in mind that not every scholarship can be used for every expenses. The specific parameters of each scholarship are outlined on the Application Website. You will need to log in with your high school login details throughout the life of your awards.
WHAT EXPENSES ARE NOT COVERED?
Personal expenses, such as entertainment, recreation, clothes, self-care and grooming services, etc.
Activities that do not generate credit toward your degree, certificate, or license
Non-academic programs, such as National Outdoor Leadership Program (NOLS) and Outward Bound
WHAT TO DO IF YOU RECEIVE A SCHOLARSHIP AND NO LONGER NEED OR MEET THE REQUIREMENTS:
If you’re in the fortunate position of having been offered awards that exceed your anticipate expenses, we ask that you consider releasing any unneeded TCSP awards to a runner-up. This decision is entirely up to you, based upon your family’s private, personal assessment of your individual circumstances. If you do have unneeded funds and choose to release them, please contact us. To assist in calculating your financial status, click on the Funding Futures Financial Worksheet in Resources below. If you no longer meet the individual award requirements (enrolled school, area of study, etc.) please inform us so we may release the funds to another student.
WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT SCHOLARSHIPS?
