Teton County is a community of extraordinary generosity and the cost of higher education is one of the most significant barriers young people here face. For many families, a scholarship isn’t just financial support. It’s permission to dream bigger than circumstance allows.
The Teton County Scholarship Program (TCSP) was built on the belief that where a student grows up should never limit where they can go. Every year, local donors make that belief real for hundreds of students, from future nurses and electricians to engineers and educators.
When you start a scholarship, you become a permanent part of that story. Your scholarship can reflect your values, honor a legacy, support a field you care about, or simply make college possible for someone who needs a hand up. Whatever your reason, it matters here.

THE PROCESS
Starting your scholarship is simpler than you think.
EFJH manages the administration from start to finish so you can stay focused on the part that matters most: the students. Whether a one-year or multi-year award, we make sure everything is handled smoothly and follows IRS and school requirements.

Start a conversation
Reach out to our Scholarship Director. We’ll meet to talk through your goals, the students you want to support, and what criteria matter to you. Scholarships can be created and modified anytime throughout the year. Changes will go into effect in the upcoming cycle.

Define your scholarship
Together, we’ll shape the scholarship criteria, award structure, and name. EFJH reviews everything for program alignment and Board approval, then prepares your Scholarship Fund Agreement for signature.

Meet your recipients
The decision cycle opens in mid-February. Your committee has a month to review them, select your recipient, and then celebrate them at our Award Night in April. A night of celebrating the students, meeting the parents, other donors, and community members.

Why we administer your scholarship
Many donors ask why their scholarship runs through EFJH rather than independently. The answer comes down to protection, reach, and peace of mind. As a registered 501(c)3, EFJH ensures every scholarship meets federal non-discrimination requirements and IRS guidelines, protecting you from the legal and tax complexities of distributing funds on your own. We also maintain trusted relationships with the Teton County School District #1, the private high schools, and the homeschool community so that your scholarship is able to reach every eligible student fairly.
Beyond compliance, EFJH manages the parts of the process most donors may not want to build themselves: collecting and organizing applications, coordinating review committees, communicating with students and their families, advertising and marketing, holding student help sessions, informational events, verifying enrollment, hosting Award Night, and disbursing funds directly to schools. Your scholarship also becomes part of a permanent, professionally managed fund that will continue to support students for as long as you intend it to.
